Four Artists - Charles Egerton, Mary Egerton, John Forster and Pete Wintle
Tuesday 17th to Sunday 22nd March, The Setting gallery and Plot café
Charles Egerton
Charlie Egerton
‘Having retired in 2012, I now have more time to devote to painting, which I have dabbled in for a number of years. My wife and I have recently moved to Wotton-under-Edge from Cumbria.
I use acrylics and oils. Acrylics’ fast drying time really helps when painting in the field. It also allows over-painting and blending to get the effects I want. I tend to paint very fast, not always a good thing!
I hope that my landscape paintings invite the viewer to enter the landscape, to experience the view.’

‘My love of plants, and particularly flowers, inspires my paintings. Colour, light, shadow, form, composition, detail – all quite a challenge!’
John Forster
John Forster
John has been working as a potter in the workshop at his home in Horsley, since 1981. The pots are made in high-fired slip-decorated earthenware.
Functionality is a priority in the design and durability of the pots. The work is informed by the long tradition of English slipware and by the work of Michael Cardew.
Pete Wintle
Pete Wintle
Pete is a Gloucestershire artist using watercolour and acrylic, but most especially oil paint. He enjoys exploring expressive and dynamic styles to produce interesting portraits along with the occasional landscape, while always attempting to capture the subject’s inner as well as outer self.
