One Man Show - Melvyn Warren-Smith

Melvyn studied fine art in Surrey and went on to win a David Murray landscape scholarship from the Royal Academy of Arts.
For many years he worked as a highly sought after illustrator specialising in romantic book covers, working with such authors as Catherine Cookson, Maeve Binchy and Edwina Currie. This career continued for many years, including illustration for magazines.
Using rich, vibrant oil colour the Stroud artist creates landscape, still life and portraiture with great intensity and often uses humour to spice up the moment.
Stroud and the landscapes consisting of the river, canal, commons, also splendid sunsets really inspire the work.
