Journeys - a Cotswolds Summer - A collection of Ceramics by Australian potter, Tessa Hoser
Tuesday 12th August to Sunday 17th August, The Setting gallery, Tuesday - Friday 8.30am - 4pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm, Sunday 10am - 3pm
Tessa is an Australian potter producing wheel-thrown and handbuilt forms, both sculptural and utilitarian. Her work explores the contrast between textures, clay bodies, colours and apparently perfect and imperfect forms.
Tessa takes influence from her environment: green, misty farmland, lichen, mosses, rich red and black soils and rainforest tumbling to the coast, on Gundungurra country near Robertson, NSW.
Currently undertaking a residency at The Clay Loft, Nailsworth, with Tom Knowles-Jackson, Tessa’s work is held in private collections in the US, UK and Australia and she has shown her work in Canberra, Sydney, Yass and at the Warrandyte Ceramics Expo. She was awarded the Craft ACT 2021 Emerging Artist Award.
“Meet the Artist” - Tessa will be at the gallery each day of the exhibition from 10am-12 noon. Come along and hear about her residency, the techniques that she uses and the stories behind her unique ceramics.
