Fabric Printing - Dye sublimation with Blue Roll Printmaking

Fabric Printing: Dye sublimation with Blue Roll Printmaking

Wednesday 29th July, 10am - 2pm

The Setting Gallery, Three Storeys, Nailsworth, GL6 0JE

Cost: £60

Luke and Sonja are very excited to bring you this colourful, satisfying workshop.

Dye sublimation is a heat transfer printing process. We will apply the inks to papers in a variety of ways and then cut and place the paper inky side onto the fabric. When put in the heat press for 30 seconds, the dye permanently transfers to the fabric. You can layer up, creating new colours where they overlap. It can look a lot like screen printing and is incredibly satisfying. There's lots of room for experimentation and play.

We will work onto fabric samples as well as t-shirts or bags. We will have large uncut fabric so there is lots of flexibility for your ideas.

This workshop will have two facilitators and between 12 - 18 in the group. If it's a smaller group than 12, you will have Sonja or Luke! All materials will be provided :-)

Luke has a background in etching and Sonja in screenprinting, and as members of Bristol Print Collective they are surrounded by printmaking in general - so feel free to pick their brains about all things print.

Book your place via the Bristol Print Collective website:

Coffee, teas, light lunches and cakes are available at the adjacent Plot café or workshop attendees may bring a packed lunch, which can be eaten in the gallery.
