Cut Flowers: a botanical papercut workshop with Shelley Saguaro

Cut Flowers: a botanical papercut workshop on roses with Shelley Saguaro

Thursday 30th July, 10am - 3pm

The Setting Gallery, Three Storeys, Nailsworth, GL6 0JE

Cost: £40

We’re delighted to welcome back this botanical paper cut workshop with artist and tutor, Shelley Saguaro. Following on from the success of last year’s autumn-themed workshop, this year’s focus will be on roses: wild, cultivated or cut for a bouquet or vase.

The ‘paper mosaiks’ of the eighteenth-century botanical artist, Mrs Mary Delany, will continue to be a point of reference, just as Shelley’s own work continues to be inspired by Mary Delany’s. However, this workshop is designed both to introduce the art of botanical papercutting to beginners or to further encourage those already acquainted with representing flora and foliage by using scissor-cut papers to create colourful botanical collages.

The workshop is open to 15 people.

Coffee, teas, light lunches and cakes are available at the adjacent Plot café and workshop attendees may bring a packed lunch, which can be eaten in the gallery.

All materials including glue, black paper, coloured magazines will be provided. Scissors will not be provided so please bring your own, the size and shape of which can be variable.

To sign up for the Cut Flowers Botanical Papercutting workshop, or for any further information about this event, please contact Shelley Saguaro: shelley.saguaro@gmail.com
